Mannar torture case |

Mr. Jeevaratnam Amalraj, 18 was arrested by the Mannar police on February 10, 2005. Consequently, he was brutally tortured and sexually abused by the police there. The CHRD intervened and the case was taken up before the Mannar Magistrates’ Court. This case was taken up on February 11, 2005 and February 28, 2005. Identification parade was not successful so the case could not be taken up thereafter. Currently, the case is pending at the Magistrate’s Court. |
